Kiessling joins Bayer Leverkusen for 5 Million Euro

Bayer 04 Leverkusen and 1. FC Nürnberg agreed the terms for the transfer of German under 21 international Stefan Kiessling today. The striker will join Bayer 04 on 01 July and has signed a four-year contract. Leverkusen pays 5 Million Euro to Nuremburg with another 2 Million added if Kiessling will play for the Senior National Team. Shao and China defeated by Serbia and Montenegro

Shao Jiayi's China missed the flair of suspended star Zheng Zhi as Zhu Guanghu's national team were beaten 2-0 by Serbia&Montenegro on Sunday. The Shandong attacking midfielder has been disqualified by the AFC's Disciplinary Committee for six months after being found guilty of abusing a referee during an Asian Champions League match. Roberto Hilbert is voted "Player Of The Week"

German Under 21 international Roberto Hilbert (Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth) has been voted "Player Of The Week" in Germany's 2nd Bundesliga after a top performance in his club 6:2 defeat of Wacker Burghausen. Right winger Hilbert (21) scored two and assisted another two goals and showed again why so many German top clubs are in a chase of his services.

Heiko Westermann in "Best Eleven Of The Week"

Arminia Bielefeld's powerful defender Heiko Westermann has been nominated in the "Best Eleven Of The Week" by journalists of Germany's most important football magazine "Kicker". The former Under 21 international plays a key role in Bielefeld's defence since joining the club on a 800.000 ? transfer from second division club Greuther Fürth earlier this summer. Central defender Westermann (22 years) scored his first goal in German Bundesliga this week in his clubs 3:0 victory over Hertha Berlin.

World Cup hosts Germany beat China 1-0 thanks to a Torsten Frings penalty early in the second half of Wednesday's friendly international in Hamburg. Frings converted from the spot on 51 minutes after Shenzhen Jianlibao defender Li Weifeng brought down Bernd Schneider in the box. Under 21: Germany with clear victories vs Wales and Austria

The German Under 21-National Team has won the EURO qualifier in Austria 3:0 just three days after beating Wales with 4:0 in Braunschweig / Germany. Germany is still unbeaten after ten qualifing matches and is top of the group with 24 points before England (21 points) and Poland (13). Right winger Roberto Hilbert from second division outfit Greuther Fürth performed well in both matches while Germany's shooting star Stefan Kiessling (Nuremburg) had to cancel the trip due to injury.

Striker Kiessling also in "Best Eleven Of The Week"

Stefan Kiessling presented himself once again in superb form in Nuremburg's 2:1 defeat of Björn Schlicke's 1. FC Cologne. Kiessling scored after 32 minutes to give Nuremburg a lead and decided the match with his second goal, a cracking 20 meters shot, to make it 2:0 for Nuremburg. Patrick Helmes scored the only goal for Cologne after 75 minutes to complete the result.

Schlicke in "Best Eleven Of The Week" again

Björn Schlicke (24) of newly promoted 1. FC Cologne has been nominated for the "Bundesliga Eleven Of The Week" for the second time in three weeks. The member of Germany's B National Team and former Under 21 defender catched up an exciting start in his new club after completing a ? 1,000,000 move from Hamburger SV just a few weeks ago. Schlicke is hopeful to keep his form to strengthen Cologne's defense as a key figure under team manager Uwe Rapolder.

Under 21: Germany 1 - 1 England / Kiessling scores again

Nuremburg striker Stefan Kiessling was on target for Germany as they and England remained locked together on points at the top of qualifying group six of the UEFA Under-21 Championship. Kiessling had headed the home side ahead in Mainz after 17 minutes, but Newcastle defender Steven Taylor then volleyed a Peter Whittingham corner into the German goal three minutes before half-time.
