German U 21 qualifies for Europe

The U 21 national team of Germany reached the European Championship 2004 after a crucial second play-off match in Istanbul. Germany was able to hold a 1:1 (0:0) draw result after winning 1:0 in the first play-off leg in Leverkusen last week. Kioyo on camp with Cameroon

Francis Kioyo of TSV 1860 Munich will be on a camp with the National team of Cameroon from 8 to 13 of October as preparation for the African Nations Cup that will be held on January 2004 in Tunisia. The training sessions of the "Indomitable Lions" will take place in Herzogenaurach near Nuremburg/Germany. On October 11 Cameroon will play a fiendly match with German 2nd Division outfit Greuther Fürth. Reinhardt and Kießling are nominated to play for Germany

Dominik Reinhardt and Stefan Kießling, both players of 1. FC Nürnberg, are invited to play for Germany's U20 National team versus Switzerland on August 27th in Schaffhausen. Defender Reinhardt (188cm) and striker Kießling (194cm), both born in 1984, are in their first professional season after playing for Nürnberg's Amateur team last season. Reinhardt and Kießling will meet Greuther Fürth's Heiko Westermann to complete a triple of FP Sport Promotion clients in the current German U20 team.

Oktay signed for Nuremburg

The Turkish international Oktay Derelioglu will join 1. FC Nuremburg with immediate effect. The striker who has played for Fenerbahce and Besiktas signed a two-year-deal with the Noris based club. Oktay has a stunning record of 113 goals in 175 First Divison matches in Turkey.

Shao suffers knee ligament injury

TSV 1860 München will be without Chinese international Jiayi Shao until the new year after the midfield player suffered a knee ligament injury in training. According to Munich 1860's medical team, the 23-year-old will be sidelined for at least five months. Shao tore a cruciate ligament in his left knee when his studs caught in the turf during a training session. Björn Schlicke and Germany's U 21 drew 2-2 with Scotland at Kilmarnock tonight. Scotland will rue several missed chances that could have given them victory in an exciting and enthralling match. Westermann gave his debut for Germany

Heiko Westermann of German second Bundesliga outfit Greuther Fürth played his first international match for Germany's U 20 National Team vs Italy. Schlicke on transfer to Hamburg

Björn Schlicke (21) signed a four-year deal with Bundesliga side Hamburger SV this morning. The north german club has agreed to pay a transfer fee of 1 Million Euro for the U-21 international. Schlicke had official offers from several Bundesliga clubs including Leverkusen and Kaiserslautern.

Shao called up for China

The Chinese Football Association has named an initial squad to prepare for the East Asian four-nation tournament. Right after scoring his first Bundesliga goal vs Cottbus on Saturday Shao Jiayi (23) has been called up to strengthen his national side as one of five Europe-based players, including Manchester City's Sun Jihai, Everton's Li Tie. Shao Jiayi on a 1.3 Mio Euro deal to Munich 1860

Chinese international midfielder Shao Jiayi signed a 4 and a half year deal with German Bundesliga outfit 1860 Munich. The German club has agreed to pay the Beijing team a fee of 1.3 million Euros.
