Dorge Kouemaha has made Cameroon’s 30-man preliminary squad for the World Cup. The Club Brugge striker is expected to make the final cut to play in Group E with the record of 16 league goals that made him Belgium's topscorer of the season. Frenchman Paul le Guen is the Indomitable Lions coach and he will be looking to improve upon their performance at the Africa Cup of Nations. After qualifying from their group, Cameroon suffered a quarter final exit at the hands of eventual winners Egypt, who are not at this summer’s tournament. Le Guen’s side were also shocked by Gabon in the opening match of the January competition, with his former signing Daniel Cousin scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 defeat. English-based players Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Sebastien Bassong and Alexandre Song are in a squad is heavily complimented by European-situated players. Lens left-back Henri Bedimo and Red Bull Salzburg central midfielder Somen Tchoyi are the two notable absentees from the list, which le Guen announced from Paris instead of travelling to Cameroon. Cameroon are in Group E and will play against Japan on June 14, Denmark on June 19 and Holland on June 24.
