Kouemaha on transfer to Club Brugge

Dorge Rostand Kouemaha moves with immediate effect from MSV Duisburg to the Belgian Euro-League participants Club Brugge, where he signed a four-year contract. Both clubs agreed not to disclose transfer fee. "We regret the sale of Kouemaha although athletic and human, but the player gets a great chance to evolve in an international club play," said sporting director Bruno Hübner. Kouemaha came in summer 2008 from the Hungarian club Debreceni VSC to Duisburg. The forward scored 15 goals in 34 games for the second division outfit MSV Duisburg.

Heiko Westermann extends Schalke contract

The Koenigsblauen may be in a mini-crisis at the moment, but there has been a positive development for them as Heiko Westermann has signed Schalke have lost their manager, are in a lowly league position, their captain has given up the armband and they have been dumped out of both the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Cup. Things are looking bleak at the Veltins Arena at the moment. However, the news that versatile German international Heiko Westermann has signed a new contract at the club will at least bring a smile to the supporters’ faces. The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal, which will keep him at the Ruhr club until July 30, 2014.

Under 19: Cenk Güvenc called up by Turkey

 Kickers Offenbach Under 19 defender Cenk Güvenc has been called up by the Turkish National Team for two friendly matches with Romania on February 17 and 19. Güvenc had mixed feelings as he had to decide to play for Turkey as the country his parents hail from and to the disfavor of the German FA. The nomination by Under 19 National Coach Ogün Temizkanoglu will be the first international experience for the 17-year-old versatile defender.

Sercan Sararer celebrates his professional debut

 Youngster Sercan Sararer (18) has collected his first experiences in professional football. The talented striker featured in Greuther Fürth's 1:3 defeat against Munich 1860. Sercan is seen as one of Germany's most talented young forwards. The son of a Turkish father and a Spanish mother seems to be in a dilemma as three Football Associations, the Turkish, the Spanish and the German would be delighted to call him up for to their Junior National teams.

Cameroon invites Dorge Kouemaha

 Dorge Kouemaha of German 2nd Bundesliga outfit MSV Duisburg has been invited to be part of Cameroon's Senior National Team for the World Cup qualifier against Mauritius on October 11. The tall striker moved from Hungarian Premier League club Debrecen to Germany last summer and is eager to celebrate his debut for his country after scoring 27 goals in 52 matches in the Hungarian League in the last two seasons. Cameroon's squad includes the likes of Samuel Eto'o as well as Rigobert Song, Geremi Njitap and Modeste Mbami.

Westermann scores for Germany

Germany opened their World Cup campaign with an easy but lacklustre win. Coach Joachim Löw's team beat football minnows Liechtenstein 6:0 (1:0) to lead Group 4 ahead of Wales. Lukas Podolski, back as a striker after playing in left midfield at EURO 2008, scored twice (21./48.). Both goals were laid on by Piotr Trochowski. Simon Rolfes (65.) scored his first international goal, with another a minute later from Bastian Schweinsteiger (66.). Thomas Hitzlsperger scored with a deflected free kick( 76.) while Heiko Westermann rounded things off with his first goal for Germany (86.).

Eigler on transfer to Nuremburg

 It took more than six weeks of negotiations with Arminia Bielefeld, but now 1. FC Nürnberg have who they wanted: Christian Eigler. The 24-year-old wants to "score as many goals as possible". FCN can use that after just 35 goals last season. It's a return move for Eigler who already played for Nuremberg's youth teams before temporarily quitting football for a few months when he was with the Under-15s. Moves to SV Unterreichenbach, four years in Fürth and two in Bielefeld followed, now he is back. He faces a lot of competition up front with Robert Vittek and Angelos Charisteas, but that doesn't bother Eigler.

Westermann in Germany's Euro 2008 squad

 A stunning season of form in the Bundesliga has earned Westermann his Euro 2008 chance and coach Joachim Löw knows he will do a job if called into action to replace his first team regulars. He has been in sparkling touch with Schalke since making the move from Arminia Bielefeld last summer and his brand of all-action and tough tackling football has impressed all. His ability to score the odd important goal is another string to his bow, as well as a competitive attitude that makes him a formidable opponent.

Juri Judt moves to Nuremburg

 German under-21 international Juri Judt joined 1. FC Nuremburg on a free transfer from Greuther Fürth. The versatile defensive Midfielder moved to the other side of the city to prove his quality in the ranks of the local rivals. Juri featured in 76 Bundesliga matches for Greuther Fürth since he had celebrated his professional debut in 2005.

Martin Meichelbeck back home

Martin Meichelbeck returns to his Franconian home region after eight years at VfL Bochum. The 31-year-old defender signs a two-year contract with SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Meichelbeck's contract with VfL Bochum, which was due to run until 2009, was resolved by mutual consent. Meichelbeck had already played 35 matches (five goals) for the "Cloverleaves" between 1998 and 2000.
